Project Description:

The project comprised the refurbishment of Blakeney Building (single storey section) to provide a modern

teaching facility to house Advanced Construction and Engineering. 

The works included forming new openings for windows and doors to the facades, internal demolition followed by new glazed partitions, external works to adjust levels and create new entrance together with MEP installation throughout.

Key Challenges:

• Undertaking works on an operational college campus (June/ July 22) including coordination with adjacent building occupiers as needed throughout and dedicated pedestrian routes​

• A significant number of roof lights present across the site area.  All were deemed fragile and robust controls during works in proximity was required to ensure a safe roof access solution during the works and also post completion for end user access for maintenance
